Welcome to the SD DCI Missing Persons web site.  This site will primarily be used to display information about missing persons in South Dakota, along with links to national and state resources.

    Note: South Dakota usually has between 25 and 50 active missing children cases at any given time.

    The CyberTipline handles leads from individuals reporting the sexual exploitation of children.
      
  • National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC), established in 1984 as a private, nonprofit organization, serves as a clearinghouse of information on missing and exploited children; provides technical assistance to citizens and law enforcement agencies; offers training programs to law enforcement and social service professionals; distributes photographs and descriptions of missing children nationwide; coordinated child protection efforts with the private sector; networks with nonprofit service providers and state clearinghouses on missing persons; and provides information on effective state legislation to ensure the protection of children.

    A 24-hour, toll-free telephone line is open for those who have information on missing and exploited children: 1-800-THE-LOST (1-800-843-5678).
